The Public Works Bureau in the organization of the Tainan City Government is a unit in charge of construction management and engineering construction, also a constructor and serviceman who responds in the public works such as city road, trench, bridge, water channel, and sewer, etc. or a manager to construct the city buildings and administer the not-licensed building.

To implement the new conception of Three Principles of the People “All people, equal people, and for people” for enhancing work quality to serve people, the Public Works Bureau adopts the manner of marketing service to enlarge the eyesight of governmental service and construct a new international city of wisdom combining the science and technology with culture and ecology.

The Public Works Bureau of the Tainan City Government can be divided into five Sections respectively as “Construction Management”, “Implication Management”, “Civil Engineering”, “Maintenance Engineering”, and “Sewer Engineering”.

Employees now served in the Public Works Bureau totally has 93 persons, including one Director-general, one vice-director, one technologist, five section chiefs, 37 specialists and craftsmen, and 48 workers, besides, it also organizes 64 contracted employees and engineering assistants and 66 provisional workers to help handling the technique and administration business. The whole Bureau totally has 223 persons.
